Ontario has Canada's largest tourism industry accounting for 42% its visitors and 33% of Canada's national revenue. 

Ontario's tourism industry provided 412,000 direct, indirect and induced jobs, representing almost 8% of Ontario's employment.  

The total number of vistors to Ontario in 2004 was 118.3 million (up 8% from the previous year) 

 Toronto welcomed over 18 million visitors from all over the world. Visitor spending totalled $4.1 billion. Tourism initiatives and promotion brought 453 meetings and conventions, ranging in size from 150 to 50,000 delegates, to the GTA alone.

In 2004, 118.3  million visitors accounted for $21.4 billion in tourism expenditures in Ontario.   

Tourism was Ontario's 6th largest export industry, bringing into the province $6.7 billion in foreign exchange from outside Canada.
